90's Throw Back: French Toast Crunch Cereal Makes Slammin' Return #TBT

Thousands of loyal French Toast Crunch fans in the U.S., who have been protesting "as if" since the cereal disappeared in 2006, will finally have their day as the maple-y, French toast-y cereal returns to store shelves this month.

These passionate fans created a "Bring French Toast Crunch Back" Facebook page, gathered thousands of online petition signatures, and contacted the General Mills customer service center in droves with calls and e-mails. Some are even spending $20 a box to get the cereal sent from Canada. "All of the conversations, requests and passion from the fans really got our attention," said Waylon Good, marketing manager for General Mills. "It's amazing to see how nostalgia for brands from generations past can really take on a life of its own -- demonstrating a real desire to have these products back in our lives. We are so excited to give fans a chance to experience the cereal as they did many years ago, and also to introduce it to a new generation of French Toast Crunchers!"

Boxes of French Toast Crunch, with its original sweet maple and cinnamon flavor ($3.65) and distinctive mini toast shape (crust included), will begin hitting shelves at select retailers in mid-Dec. and nationwide by mid-Jan. 2015.

Introduced in late 1995, French Toast Crunch has topped the list of General Mills cereals Americans wanted to see return.  Learn more at www.FrenchToastCrunchIsBack.com
