Beachy Waves Made Easy (Plus: Summer Ponytail Upgrade)

Want to know what it takes to get perfectly tossled hair, aka beach waves? Well we did too! So we asked Anthony Turner, stylist for L’Oréal Professionnel for his pro tips.

Turner created a modern take on beach waves at the Spring/Summer 2014 runway show of Topshop Unique to complement the cool and confident Topshop girl.  According to Turner, “A nonchalant, flipped side part set against loose texture looks effortlessly cool.” To get the look, spray L’Oréal Professionnel Perfect Texture ($22.50 / LPSalons.com) from roots to ends on damp hair then diffuse with a dryer while running fingers through hair to create loose waves and full volume.

THE LOOK: TEXTURIZED PONYTAIL

Update a ponytail with added texture. Secure damp hair into a ponytail and apply perfect texture to the tail. Braid, then power-dry. Once set, release braid and finger tousle until desired texture is achieved.
