Spas Around The World: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana Rock Spa
As a beauty expert I know about the healing power of the spa. The importance of creating quiet time for ourselves is something we often neglect. Which is why when I travel I like to make that time and space just for me. On a recent trip to the Dominican Republic I did just that.
I went to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, yes I know when you think Hard Rock your first thought might not be quiet and relaxing, oh but it can be!
First, when you vacation at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana make sure you visit Rock Spa, yes music will be involved and I'll get to that in a moment.
Rock Spa is an expansive 60,000 square foot oasis housing 46 cabins and 6 palapas. Rock Spa also features the Caribbean's most complete hydrotherapy center with lagoons, two whirlpools, steam room, sauna, hydro-reflexology, sensory expertise pool, and a cutting edge ice room. And while the spa is impressive in size, it has been designed to give guests privacy, signature personalized service, discreet attention, and the ultimate in relaxation and revitalization.
The Rock Spa offers classic services and decedent treatments for any guest whether you're a seasoned spa go-er or newbie. You can take a moment to go acoustic and turn down the tempo at the Rock Spa. For my treatment, I went with a unique twist on the massage treatment with their amped up version called Rhythm & Motion. I headed into the spa prepared to be blissed out. I was truly wowed!
The decor and design is relaxing, think: modernist Zen. The space looks and feels like it could accommodate many guests yet is still intimate. While its great for solo and couples experiences, I could easily see large wedding parties, bachelor and bachelorette events basically large groups who could spa together! P.S. please invite me.
I started out with hydrotherapy and made the most of all the facilities at the spa. Yes, get there at least 30 minutes before your appointment. This will allow you time to change and cycle through the hydrotherapy experience. That means steam, sauna, cold, cool and hot tubs!
Next I headed into to treatment room for my Hard Rock Rhythm And Motion treatment. My massage therapist asked for my aromatherapy preference, I opted for the energizing citrus scent. Then I surrendered to bliss. This is hands down the most unique and creative massage I've ever experienced! Now let's talk music, at a spa there is usually 'spa music' or no music but here's where that Rock n' Roll DNA comes in handy at Rock Spa. The Synchronicity treatment is more than a massage.
During this treatment you'll hear the greatest hits from yesterday to today, the treatment taps into memories to create an experiential journey, in sync with a performance of techniques, pressure and rhythm. The massage track list was full of familiar music, but not distractingly so. I know I heard a blend of The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Van Morrison mixed in a way that was refreshing and soothing.
During the massage your skin is infused with a choice of natural organic essential oils to reduce stress, ease muscle tension, and detoxify. The massage is completed with the massage therapist gently strumming on a guitar to bring you back to reality. Making this service truly one of a kind and a must experience!
