Wild Fox Fall 2015 Wants You To Live La Dolce Vita

WILDFOX Creative Director Kimberley Gordon presented the label's Fall 2015 collection, La Dolce Vita, inspired by the idea of escaping winter for a vacation along Italy's Amalfi coast.

The brand transformed the garden dining room of Il Cortile, in NYC's Little Italy, into a set where 22 models displayed looks in categories titled 'Il Pastello' (Pastel Gelato Girls), 'Cameriera' (Restaurant Girls), and 'Vingeto' (Vineyard Girls), while the female group Tre Bella sang classic Italian songs. Beauty looks captured the iconic 60s Sophia Loren, with hair by Jorge Luis for Cutler Soho and makeup by Vincent Longo.

Creative Director, Kimberley Gordon, says, "I kept feeling like I didn't want summer to end. I'd been looking through Slim Aarons' "La Dolce Vita" and I wanted to slip inside the book and onto the lounge chairs. When you start designing for fall, it's fun because you can play with knits and jackets, but I find it hard to have to get so dark and cold with colors! I thought about where you could be that fall could feel like a continuation of summer…a permanent vacation."

In a range of signature soft lightweight knits, sweaters, intimates, and denim, fall perfectly captures the air ofItaly while staying true to the Wildfox aesthetic. Paying homage to a country renowned for its art, architecture, culture, and cuisine, equates to wine references, allover pizza prints, the classic phrases: "Kiss Me I'm Italian"and "Italians Do It Better," and Italian sayings such as "Voglio un "buongiorno" Un bacio e un Caffè" [I want a " good morning " A kiss and a Coffee].

Mod graphics, bold floral prints, and neon mosaic patterns cover flirty shift dresses, cropped tees and fleece sweatshirts to channel the late 60s, while crocheted knit sweaters, ringer and raglan tees, and rounded fonts nod to the 70s. In true Wildfox form, several lighthearted graphics include a slice of pizza coming out of a pocket tee, and phrases like "Holy Cannoli!" and "In memory of when I slept in" can be found on tees, raglans, and jumpers.

This season includes a substantially larger offering of sweater styles, ranging from intarsia graphics and allover prints to emoji-style appliques and cable accents in multicolored yarn. Four solid sweaters in cropped, hip length, boyfriend, and tunic fits are offered in various color options per style. New woven pieces include a mini swing dress, oversize button down shirt, and drawstring jogger pants in plaid and rose printed flannel. Cropped velvet baseball jackets come in color blocked pastel, burnt orange, and black options that can be worn on their own, or paired with matching velvet drawstring shorts or lace-up sweats.
