This is my test run with the Intel-powered SMS Audio BioSport headphones.
As a journalist/blogger there is no typical day for me so it's hard to schedule in regular workouts. This results in a dress to move lifestyle so I can sneak in a quick walk, run or gym session when I can. I love gadgets and tech but with so much out there I need technology that improves my life. With Intel and SMS Audio its the convergence technology and fitness. This helps athletes of all levels achieve personal fitness goals and reach peak performance.
These simplified, smarter earbuds integrate Intel technology and SMS Audio studio quality sound. The self-charging system uses in-ear pulse sensors that sync with the RunKeeper app for an easy-to-use, wearable experience.
That means you can measure heart rate, pace, distance traveled and calories with an earbud that simplifies your fitness activity tracking, all in stylish comfort.
Hear...I mean here are my favorite features:
- Exceptional sound! High caliber of studio-mastered sound for working out to motivating music. Plus the headphones are IPX4-rated for protection against sweat and resistance to water.
- BioSport is compatible with RunKeeper, allowing users to track metrics such as pace, distance, elevation and calorie burn in addition to pace. Heart rate is communicated during activity via voice commands to keep you informed without needing to look down at the device. So you can stay focused and free from visual distractions.

Heart rate measured from your ear? Oh yeah! The in-ear heart rate monitor wires directly to your mobile device, without extra straps, for continuous tracking during your simplifying your workout. They use a built-in optical sensor that continuously and accurately measure your heart rate while simultaneously removing noise signals caused by your body’s motion during your workout.

No batteries required! BioSport is powered by the 3.5 mm gold-plated audio jack, which draws energy from your own smartphone or audio player – eliminating the need for any in-headphone battery and ensuring. BioSport is always ready for the next workout.

Let's talk tunes!
Contest Time: Everyone that loves to run or work out knows that music can be a big part of that process. So, what is your favorite song to run or work out to? Fans can enter their top songs on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #IntelxBioSport for a chance to win a pair of Intel-powered SMS Audio BioSport headphones. Terms and conditions: http://bit.ly/IntelxBioSport Contest runs from April 10 – April 19, 2015.
I am of two minds on music for running, sometimes I need a karaoke-type mix where I know the words to the song and can sing along (through the pain) if I need to. Other times I need those big bpm's thumping and driving beats so I feel as though I have to keep pace. Check out this playlist that Intel has created to power your next run: http://spoti.fi/1ysItoB
Good luck & See you in Boston!
