Tribeca Film Festival Lincoln Spotlights: Sinatra at 100

The 2015 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented “Sinatra at 100: Film & Music in collaboration with The Lincoln Motor Company,” a centennial celebration to honor Frank Sinatra’s legendary film career at the Festival’s 14th edition.

This was an evening of film and music on April 21 featured the digital restoration of On the Town and live performances at the Festival’s creative hub at Spring Studios will serve as the centerpiece of the celebration.  

Following the screening of Warner Bros. digital restoration of Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen’s and classic movie adaptation of the Broadway musical On the Town, TFF, along with Lincoln and the Sinatra family, helped pay tribute to the icon’s influence on today’s artists and pop culture.

Audiences were  treated to exclusive performances by 18-time Grammy winner and legendary vocalist Tony Bennett, musician Brandon Flowers (The Killers), comedian, actress and jazz musician Lea DeLaria (Orange is the New Black), dancer and choreographer Savion Glover, singer/songwriter Alice Smith, and bandleader and songwriter JC Hopkins and the 12-piece JC Hopkins Biggish Band.

Tony Bennett said, “Frank Sinatra and I were best friends and it is an honor to participate in an event that commemorates his centennial.”

The Tribeca Film Festival has screened more than 1,600 films from more than 80 countries since its first edition in 2002. Since inception, it has attracted an international audience of more than 4.9 million attendees, and has generated an estimated $900 million in economic activity for New York City.
