Beautypress Breakdown And Breakout Stars

By Jennifer Ross

Instead of day drinking tequila on Cinco de Mayo this year, I opted to go to The beautypress Spotlight Day Event to take a look at the latest and greatest in products per beautypress themselves.

For those of you who are unfarmiliar, beautypress is “the largest international PR network for the beauty industry – daily press releases from more than 180 beauty brands.” (according to their official website) BP also has detailed profiles on top professionals in the realm ranging from CEO’s of company’s to plastic surgeons, extensive coverage of industry events, and overall news.

The end result was my liver giving me a high five and an ample tote of new products to play with. Here is my personal take on the stand outs from my goodie bag.

THYMES Aqua Coralline Body Scrub- This soap free formula is ideal if you are looking for a moisture binding scrub. Rich with jojoba esters, kelp and sea buck thorn extracts, this skin slougher will lightly lift all of the dead skin cells from your skin whilst providing tons of hydration. I massaged this onto dry skin before I hopped in the shower. This gave my skin a silky smooth surface to shave my legs and then apply a light self tanner on damp skin post shower.

MyChelle Refining Sugar Cleanser- Another natural product, this time for the face, not only cleanses but removes makeup and exfoliates as well.  The directions on the side of the box say to “Gently massage on wet skin until sugar dissolves. Use more or less water to tailor exfoliation. Rinse completely.”  My skin has been relatively blemish prone lately so I was completely down for less water and more scrub.  In turn this dual exfoliator featuring both the AHA of a chemical peel and sugar cane crystals to physically resurface the skin left my tone and texture clean and clear.

Aquage Silkening Oil Foam – I came across this whole line a few years back when I was hair modeling (#fancy) for a friend of mine. I immediately took notice as to how extra silky and smooth they left my hair feeling from one style to the next thanks to a blend of sea botanicals. However this particular product dispenses as a mousse-like texture, but once worked into the hair is meant to provide weightless hydration and nourishment.  It also helps with frizz and acts as a heat protectant.

CoTZ Flawless Complexion SPF 50 – Seeing as how this has been the unofficial SPF recommendation of Organic Skincare Guru/Facialist Tracie Martyn for years now, right off the bat I knew it had to be of a certain caliber. This oil, fragrance, preservative, paraben, paba, gluten, and phthalate free formula wards off harmful UVA/UVB rays as well.  And with a blemish free formula that has a slight tint to it for medium coverage, you can look your best while protecting yourself to boot!
