Melissa McCarthy Wants To Dress You!

Actress Melissa McCarthy can now add designer to her resume. The comic-actress is serious about fashion for women of all sizes launches Melissa McCarthy Seven7 today.

Fashion can be intimidating, and many designers present themselves as aloof and untouchable. Melissa is the opposite; she wants to inspire, and be part of, the conversation women are having about fashion. “I love that I’ll be able to chat with other women about fashion and see how they’re wearing my clothes.”

The inspiration for the line came from Melissa’s personal experiences, and how over the course of her life she has been dressing herself as a variety of sizes- from 6 to 12 to more. Once she went over a size 12, she found that her options had become limited, despite the fact that she hadn’t lost her love of fashion.  Instead of accepting her lack of options, she decided to do something about it and created the Melissa McCarthy Seven7 Collection.

Melissa had actually wanted to be a fashion designer since grade school and moved to NYC to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology.  At the time, her close friend Brian Atwood told her she should do stand-up, and her life as an actress began.  She is now back to her passion, which will launch with an all-size collection starting in fall 2015.
