Latinista Fashion Week Spring Summer 2016 Runway Event Recap
Latinista™ Spring Summer Collection 2016 featured rising star Batista Collections and established celebrity designer Czar by Cesar Galindo, including a sexy soirée and VIP event after party sponsored by INCA KOLA & 50 Bleu Premium Vodka. What began as the Latinista ™Lounge” in 2010 has now launched the fashion careers of the Alfredo Vizcaino, Cenia Paredes , Burju Shoes among many others. This year, the sleek Metropolitan Downtown West event space produced by Dee & Co Group and Latinista™Fashion Week was an elegant backdrop to New York City .
Dee & Co Group Communications Executive Producer & Owner Dee Rivera expressed delight in the incredible growth of the posh fashion brand, ahead of the NYFW events.
“I’m very proud how Latinista™Fashion Week has not only endured, but also prospered over the last 5 years and become an important part of the latino community as well as New York Fashion Week,” Rivera said in a statement.
“It takes a village to put these shows on every year and my heartfelt appreciation goes out to all the designers, sponsors ,fashion and hispanic community and collaborators such as Cesar Galindo, Viva Daily News, FashionOne who have supported us these past five years. I look forward to a very special season next year and the next decade ahead.”
Latinista™Fashion Week began with a sexy opening party on Sept 2010, hosted by Iman Cosmetics & Latina Magazine. The event took place at the swanky INC lounge at the TIME Hotel Rooftop, and featured indie & upcoming designers with IMAN Cosmetics being in the forefront of it all.
In an exclusive interview with Latina.com, Rivera described the concept for the video.
“I wanted Latinista™Fashion Week to be the platform for all latin designers to be discovered and get noticed.
The fashionable events transitioned from sultry to runway chic on August 2014 with the NYFW debut of Shantall Lacayo of Project Runway (Argentina) Cenia Paredes for Macys, Edwin DeAngelo & Cesar Galindo Collection. In 2015, Cesar Galindo Collection and Batista Collection were featured at Ogilvy & Mather sponsored by OPI, Vera Moore Cosmetics, Mirta De Perales and Inca Kola .
Latinista™Fashion Week wrapped with a fashionable and fun event at the Studio 450 . Each attendee was greeted by Mijem INC ambassadors, the newest social media app that combines all your social media needs with features that allow you to customize your profile.
The runway shows displayed gorgeous shoes by Soles 4 Divas , Jewelry by Jane Hruska Accessories , Hair by Aveda with Lead Celebrity Stylist Tippi Shorter,Makeup by Mary Kay led by Celebrity Makeup Artist Luis Casco from Project Runway and Venice Collection by OPI in a celebratory setting. Guests mingled while DJ Steve Travolta played a mix of hits and had an all out performance by singing sensation Deborah Cooper by C&C Music Factory.
The red carpet had special guest Teyonah Parris of Madmen, Oxygen TV -The Prancing Elites and an eclectic array of models that strutted down the runway. The event was a perfect way to celebrate the high-energy week, and also displayed the diversity, versatility and style quotient of both Latinista™Fashion Week and the direction the brand will like to go in the future.
