In fact, according to a recent "Lipstick Diaries" survey* commissioned by L'Oreal Paris and conducted online by Harris Interactive, of nearly 2,300 men and women polled, 75 percent of lipstick-wearing women believe that lipstick improves their confidence. But it doesn't stop there, other lipstick secrets we uncovered include:

"Lipstick has been heralded for centuries as the key to instantly transforming and defining a woman. A swipe of bright red can inspire confidence, while a rose or nude shade can help achieve that 'come-hither' look," says L'Oreal Paris Consulting Makeup Artist Collier Strong.
