Hurricane Irene in NYC: The South Street Seaport Preps for the Storm

While you were out getting groceries or trying to find D batteries, I was talking a walk in Lower Manhattan. On any given Saturday the South Street Seaport area is usually filled with tourists rain or shine. Today the only people around were adventurous runners, dog owners taking their pooches for the last dry stroll of the weekend and those making final preparations to protect the ships at the dock on Pier 17.
