Enter the Year of the Snake: Chinese New Year Annual Parade and Celebration in Chinatown
This year Chinatown celebrated the year of the Snake at Chinatown’s annual Lunar New Year. The celebration had stunning visuals, tantalizing treats and impressive performances.
There were all types of events happening. At the American Society of Buddhist Studies people lined up around the block waiting, in frigid temperatures, for the opportunity to start the new year with the proper rituals.
Some people waited in line with incense while waiting to cast their first prayers for the Year of the Snake.
The street party featured food and festivities for all ages. The main streets of Lower Manhattan we packed with revelers from Little Italy through Chinatown.
