Oscar Red Carpet Predictions: Top Style Experts Dish on Celeb Dresses
With the Oscars coming up we asked a few style experts their thoughts on what the stars will be wearing on the red carpet for the Academy Awards. The nominees will really shine but there will be past winners and celebs galore to present and attend Hollywood’s biggest night.
Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway really delivers on the red carpet with very big name designers from the world of Haute Couture. She has relationships with Valentino, Armani, Givenchy and Karl Lagerfeld--to name a few. Fashion Expert and Celebrity Stylist, Sam Saboura tells us Anne’s dress will most likely be a custom couture creation and possibly one of a kind. “She’s nominated, she is fashion’s darling and I think she'll pull out all the stops to make a statement on Sunday,” says Saboura. Coming off her subdued Chanel look from the Globes, we expect great things.
Celebrity Fashion Stylist, Gina LaMorte says “expect to see her in Chanel for sure.” The “Les Miserables” actress may move away from black and white. “For the finale show (Oscar), I am thinking she will choose color, or nude/blush in tone. Definitely anticipate a strapless gown.”
Jennifer Lawrence
As the new face of Miss Dior, Jennifer Lawrence is Hollywood's latest it girl. “I expect the “Silver Linings Playbook” actress to be wearing custom made by Raf Simons for Dior,” says LaMorte.
Saboura agrees and tells us that ”everyone is looking to Jennifer Lawrence because she¹s fresh, young, vibrant, and has this anti-Hollywood personality. She' s been successfully courted by
Christian Dior Haute Couture and their new deisgner Raf Simmons, so we assume we'll be seeing her in a stunning Haute Couture gown that's modern and edgy, but she's unpredictable so you never know, she may also turn up in a hot young designer and help them make their mark!”
Jessica Chastain
Celebrity Style Expert Jene’ Luciani is hopeful about Jessica Chastain’s Red Carpet entrance. Coming off the heels of her highly criticized ‘saggy breasts’ look from the Golden Globes, Luciani says “Chastain will surely be a winner in the style department. I predict she’ll wear a bold color like red (an unexpected choice for a redhead) to show that SHE is the TRUE bombshell and
deserving of the trophy and NOT Jennifer Lawrence.” Sounds like a red carpet rumble.
“At the Pre-Oscar luncheon last week Jessica said as a little girl she dreamed about what she would wear to the Oscars!!! She said she loves fashion that's celebrates a woman's body and is looking forward to something colorful,” dished LaMorte.
Sally Field
John McCormick of RedCarpetStylist.com jokes that we can “expect Sally Field to grace the red carpet in her favorite nun's habit. She'll need help from a higher power for a 3rd Oscar and then, to wrestle that gold statue from Ann Hathaway's hands.”
But on a serious note Fashion Trend writer, Diane Weisbeck predicts Sally Field will wear “a deep red long bustle dress with train, and a lace up corset bodice.”
Naomi typically goes soft and subtle but this is finally her chance to shine. Luciani predicts that “Naomi will choose a ‘power’ color like bold red or cobalt blue, and something formfitting to
show off her great figure.”
Quvenzhane Wallis
Dana Forman of What the Frock? predicts something cute for the young actress. “She'd look adorable in this frilly Jill Stuart and of course, a matching dog purse,” says Forman.
Bonus: Singer and Style Star Adele may again do her retro thing. “With a bouffant hairdo and retro makeup, Adele would look like a 60's bride in this Temperley London gown,” suggests Forman.
