Fall Trends on the Red Carpet: The Low Pony

emmy ponytailI’m so tickled right now! Award show season is upon us – It’s the time of year when we start to see fall trends in full effect…on the red carpet!

At the Emmy Awards ceremony, many celebrities were seen donning a low-ponytail with their intricately detailed gowns – a trend set into motion by TRESemmé Stylist Jeanie Syfu last season at Jenny Packham’s Fall 2013 show.

Jenny Packham’s designs continued to thrive as a red carpet favorite amongst the a-list crowd last night, and the low pony look that Jeanie created for her Fall 2013 collection demonstrated how even the most feminine and intricately detailed gowns are complimented by this “glamorous yet modern hairstyle,” as Jeanie calls it.

  1. Start by applying TRESemmé Platinum Strength Strengthening Heat Protect Spray to the ends of the hair and blow dry with a Mason Pearson brush for a straight finish

  2. Create a part down the center and then section hair in two parts, separating across the back of the head from ear to ear

  3. Gently tease the underneath section and along the horizontal line from ear to ear

  4. Loosely pull hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck, letting hair fall out around the face

  5. Secure with an elastic and finish with a ribbon
