Día de los Muertos: A Very Special Drink Recipe

Recently, I was invited to the Möet Hennessy Lounge for a lesson from Mixologist Joseph Solís.

Latin-American Inspired Cocktails with Hennessy VS

Hennessy VS Blood Orange Punch

2013-10-09 19.40.021 oz- Hennessy VS

.5 oz- Grand Marnier

1 oz- Blood Orange Juice

.5 oz- POM Pomegranate Juice

.25 oz- Fresh Lemon Juice

2 Dashes- Old Fashioned Bitters

Splash- Chandon Brut

3- Blackberries

2- Lemon Slices

2- Orange Slices

Marigold Flower

Method- Combine Hennessy, Grand Marnier, Blood Orange, Lemon Juice and Bitters and fruit into a shaker with ice. Shake viforously and pour into a stemless wine glass. Top with a float of Chandon Brut. Garnish with a Marigold flower.

Berry Scary

.5 oz cassis


.25 oz Crème de cacao


1 oz apple juice 


Grated cinnamon


Garnish:  Cinnamon Stick


Method: Combine all liquid in a glass grate some cinnamon into the shaker, add ice, shake until chilled, strain into a rocks glass with 1 large ice cube.  Garnish with a cinnamon stick and serve

Hennessy Big Apple (Intermediate) aka Nas’ favortie drink!

2013-10-09 18.42.231.5 oz- Hennessy VS

3 oz- Pressed Apple Juice

.25 oz- Maple Syrup

.3 oz- Lime juice (3 lime wedges)

Garnish: grated cinnamon or cinnamon stick

Method: Squeeze limes and drop into a mixing tin with ice and all liquids, shake until well chilled. Strain into a Collins glass with fresh ice. Garnish with fresh grated cinnamon.

Hennessy La Ofrenda (The Offering)

A tribute to Mexico and the tradition of Dia De Los Muertos.

.5 oz- Brewed Espresso

.5 oz- Agave Nectar

2 oz- Almond Milk

2 Dashes- Aztec Mole Bitters

Grate- Ibarra Mexican Chocolate

Method- Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled Coupe glass. Garnish with a fresh grate of Ibarra Chocolate.
