Beauty Obsessed: Mary Kay Pretty Pastels Tutorial & Giveaway
This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Mary Kay®, People en Espanol and Latina Bloggers Connect.
Spring is right around the corner and it’s the perfect time to update your look for the new season with a few makeup and fashion essentials. Here is your chance to see just how to add a touch of spring to your beauty routine and also win the beauty products to do it (details at the bottom of the post).
I love covering and following Fashion Week (New York, London, Paris, Milan and other great cities)! One of my favorite things is sorting through the beauty trends that come down the runway.
What I love even more I when beauty brands get that most women would love to have a pro makeup artist for their make-up (like models do at fashion shows). But the reality is…its just not happening. Leave it to Mary Kay to do the heavy lifting for us fashion loving ladies. On a recent trip to the store I picked up a copy of People en Español and saw that Mary Kay has featured two seasonal trend looks in the issue.
These makeup looks were created by celebrity makeup artists Virginia Linzee and Mariela Bagnato. Celebrity stylists VonRumpf and Angie Escamilla also give their style insight into some of the fun trends of the season.
I was so excited to see one of my favorite trends: Pastels! I got my hands on the new palette and other Mary Kay products. to show you how to pump up pastels and make them look runway ready for spring & summer 2014!
Pastels are classic and are a trend that never goes out of style. This season, they will be out in full force with a palette of colors for you to showcase your own spring style. Pastels allow you to add femininity to any spring look. I love this compact that can be customized to the colors you like.“A fresh new makeup look can change a woman’s perspective on anything,” according to Sara Friedman, Vice President of Marketing at Mary Kay Inc.
I couldn’t agree more with that sentiment. I focused my eyes using: to create a pretty copper base for pastel shadows accents: Mineral Eye Color - Copper Glow. Next, I used the medium to amplify that color: Mineral Eye Color - Crystalline, then I used the light shadow color: Mineral Eye Color – Moonstone to highlight the under the arch of my brows and also the inner corner of my eyes. Using eyeliner, to define I used the brown and copper colors to line my entire eye in: Eyeliner - Deep Brown and Bronze. To finish I used the clump proof mascara: Lash Love Mascara – Black (yup, 2 coats of mascara).
A pop of bronzer: Mary Kay Bronzing Powder - Lt-Med and Med-Dark is tempered with blush: Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush to create a warmer tone (its been a long winter in NY) and finished with a sheer coral lip color: True Dimensions Lipstick - Color Me Coral and topped off with NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss - Au Natural.
The results are an easy way to wear color to compliment you spring pastel fashions!
