3 Easy New York Area Day Trips in the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Apple Picking Chevrolet Traverse

Hitting the road and going on an adventure has taken on new meaning in 2020! I recently got the chance to get behind the wheel of the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer and explore NY. I am excited to share the 3 places I visited with my family that you should try to visit.

I don’t know about you but before I hit the road in a new car I like to take time to orient myself in the vehicle. This helps me get settled and its a good time to make sure my driving experience is as personalized as possible, bonus points if you can do this before the car is gets loaded up.

Family Favorite: Maskers Orchard - Warwick, NY

I’ve been visiting Masker Orchards for a few years now. They really do offer the best family apple picking in the Hudson Valley region (ts just a short drive from points throughout the New York Tri-State area).

At Masker Orchards, you can drive right up to the trees with your family and all of your picnic gear for an idyllic day in the country. You are also free to roam among all the varieties of apples while enjoying quality time with family and friends. The views of the entire valley are breathtaking. Keep in mind this is a working farm and open seasonally (usually through November)

Being in a big city but often wanting to take a weekend escape Chevrolet’s small SUV has style, functionality and safety features that make it very easy to get out on the road. Let’s talk cargo, there is a total of 54.4 cu. ft. (with rear seat folded). Also, the curbside second-row seat is equipped with Smart Slide technology; capable of sliding forward and tipping up. When empty the cargo area makes a lovely photo op!

Wave Hill - Bronx, NY

Going to the Bronx for some much-needed tranquility and time in nature. Wave Hill offers 28-acres of Hudson River views and lots of open skies. It is frequently described as an urban oasis, Wave Hill comes as an enchanting surprise. You’ll need to book your ticket in advance for admission (fee waived on Thursdays but you still need a ticket)

Safety features are so important and the team at Chevy knows it! Chevy Safety Assist is standard in all models. The key safety features include Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert and IntelliBeam Standard Rear Vision Camera (HD view available).

The road to Wave Hill is indeed full of hills! The drive allowed us to use some of these features and we were comforted to know we had so many other features.

Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden - Staten Island, NY

Whether you’re an arts and culture enthusiast, a family looking to get away, or if you have a soft spot for beautiful botany, there’s something for everyone on our 83-acre historic campus. Bonus, it’s free and there are no tickets required.

I took some photos in the RCSF Tuscan Garden and felt like I was able to visit Italy without getting on a plane. There is so much to explore here! You need to visit their site to see for yourself: Snug Harbor.

I ended up shooting multiple looks, that meant changing in the car and touching up my make up too! While doing this I listened to some of my favorite podcasts via Apple CarPlay. The center console is the hub for infotainment and connectivity and in the Trailblazer this was a standout, the infotainment system was large color touchscreens and made music (podcasts() and navigation a breeze.
