Role Model & New COVERGIRL Face Wants to Celebrate Inclusivity
This morning, COVERGIRL released their new film featuring up-and-coming model and it-girl Amy Deanna. Amy has Vitiligo and openly embraces her skin, championing that true beauty comes in all forms.

This new film surrounds COVERGIRL’s TruBlend foundation, highlighting that in an industry that has historically touted even skin tone as beautiful, Amy proudly embraces the fact that her skin has variations in tone and is equally beautiful. She is seen using the foundation as a tool to express herself – whether she chooses to play it up or play it down, she fearlessly owns who she is and wants to inspire others to do the same.
Amy says “Vitiligo awareness is something that is very important to me. Being given a platform to do so means so much. At the end of the day I am just like everyone else, I just happen to have spots. It’s a part of my identity, but it doesn’t define who I am. For there to be so many of us and so little representation, it’s truly disheartening. I work with CoverGirl; I’m a black woman; I have vitiligo. That is empowering.”
COVERGIRL is thrilled to feature a model with Vitiligo in a campaign (a first for the brand!), part of their ongoing quest to flip the script on the beauty conversation, eschewing conventional and one-dimensional standards and celebrating what makes people special.
