3 Ways To Cultivate Your Summer Style + My Favorite Looks From Walmart
This post is sponsored by Walmart. All opinions are my own.
You may not know this about me but I used to work as a fashion editor before I became a beauty & style blogger. When I think about fashion I generally think about what makes me happy and the overall vibe but you have to be selective so you don’t end up with a closet of things that don’t work well together.
I want to share some of my favorite looks for Walmart Fashion and break them down so you can see how to create your style vibe. The first is bold and boho and yes, everything is available at Walmart!
Here, this golden maxi dress is the statement maker. To add to the bohemian vibes I added a sun hat in neutral color and crochet bag to keep the look daytime chic. For the shoes, I wanted to add a little height but comfort so I went with a wedge style shoe.
Here are some additional shoe options to create a warm summer boho look:
Next up, the monochromatic look. I want to get dressed up in summer white with a bit of a metallic look.
The white dress is at the center of this look but interesting accessories (that are not all white) let it really shine.
For this look the hat is a classic sun hat but with a twist of print on it. The shoes are classic slide style but they have a bit of gold, the metallic is just enough without being too overpowering. The bag! This bag is my favorite part of this look. As soon as I saw it I knew I’d want to wear it.

First, you want to make a mood board, this could be created using a Pinterest board or by creating an Instagram collection. You’ll start saving summer looks you love (as seen on celebs and influencers).
What’s your vibe?
Next, you’ll start to look for themes or trends that come up. It could be about colors and patterns: bold & floral (like it is for me) or maybe it’s neutrals.
Break it down.
Then think about the pieces you already have and what you need to complete a look.
I think it’s a great idea to evaluate your wardrobe every season. Especially if you have a lot of seasonal pieces you should try to make sure to edit and take an action (donate, sell or trash) and consider if you need to replace the item.
Budget.
Whether you want to add fresh styles to your closet or you are replacing older you’ll want to stay in budget and yes, Walmart helps me to try the trends while spending less with everyday low prices!
