Almost instantly, you've purchased a discount gift card that'll save you another 20 percent. Just have the cashier scan your phone screen or input the numeric code. Done and done.

The first discount gift card app from the Android Market allows shoppers to access thousands of cards from hundreds of popular merchants without leaving the store. Instant access is available on all mobile cards and many online cards purchased from the merchant and emailed directly to your inbox. (Traditional plastic cards must still be snail mailed.)

The Gift Card Granny Android app allows users to sort by price, store, discount percentage, card vendor and more. You also can check your gift card balance and use the GPS to locate the closest outlet for a desired store.
