HP, Anya Ayoung-Chee & Me

Yesterday I was invited to an another event where the focus was on the fusion of fashion and tech.
HP was back in New York for Fashion Week helping Anya Ayoung-Chee unveil her first collection since winning Project Runway Season 9 and the Intel & HP design challenge.
I got to meet Anya and had so much fun previewing her new collection “Carnival of Colour.”
I chatted beauty, pageants and island life with the designer. Anya hails from Trinidad & Tobago and graduated from Parsons School of Design and Central St. Martin School of Arts & Design. Combining her graphic design background and Caribbean roots, Anya is committed to designing clothes with an irresistible, easy, sexy vibe.

Anya is recognized for fusing fashion and technology on Season 9 of Project Runway – heightened during her win in the Intel & HP design challenge. The HP design challenge gave Anya the opportunity to demonstrate her cohesive design vision and savvy tech skills by using an HP TouchSmart PC to do everything from designing a fabric pattern to producing a runway video, allowing her to pull ahead in the competition.

Fun fact: As the winner of Project Runway Anya won a $50,000 technology suite from Intel and HP that she’s used to build her fashion business.
A few stylists and bloggers were invited to use HP’s newly announced HP PCs to design custom textiles with HP TouchSmart PCs like the designers on Project Runway.

I also got to have my very own Project Runway experience and got a sneak pack at one the upcoming challenges. HP challenged us to design textiles on HP TouchSmart PCs like the designers have on Project Runway for the past four seasons, the final creations will be posted in a Facebook poll for followers to vote on their favorite patterns. Check out the pics here and share with your friends to vote.

Thanks and stay tuned this week on Project Runway for more from HPCheck out the Pattern Poll on HP Facebook
