@NateBerkus Invites New York's Dogs & Doggie Lovers to a @Beneful Play Date In the Park
Nate Berkus, designer and dog lover, is teaming up with Beneful brand dog food for a “paw-fect” afternoon of fun created especially for New York City’s four-legged residents and their two-legged best buddies. The two-hour event, which is free and open to the public, kicks off the first-ever Beneful Play Date Tour that is traveling to eight cities across the country to inspire dogs and owners to play more together for a happy, healthy life.
The New York City event, which takes place at Tompkins Square Park (Avenue A (Between E. 7th and E. 10th Street) on Thursday, August 8, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., features a variety of entertaining activities inspired by childhood games that dogs and owners can play together including:
· Spoon Races – Dog-owner teams compete for prizes as the owner helps his buddy navigate an obstacle course while carrying a tennis ball on a spoon;
· Toss & Fetch – This game of skill invites owners to throw a tennis ball through a series of hoops, with the chance to get bonus prizes if their dog retrieves the ball;
· Squeaky Toy Pit – Dogs will have a woof-worthy good time trying to find delicious dog snacks hidden in a pit filled with tennis balls;
· Water Misters – Four- and two-legged guests can keep cool with everyone’s favorite childhood game of running through sprinklers.
Guests can also take home a goody bag filled with surprises (while supplies last) and learn how to enter the 4th annual Beneful Dream Dog Park Contest that awards a $500,000 renovation to a dog park in the Grand Prize Winner’s area (www. BenefulDreamDogParkContest.com ).
Berkus will help design the next Dream Dog Park renovation that will be unveiled in 2014 and he will also serve as one of the judges to help select the winner of this year’s contest.
