Timeless Glamour: Colored Lace

I have a ritual of reading (just about) every single September issue. As they start coming into my mailbox and my iPad I pour over content and lust after new fall items (while it's still achingly hot and humid). As I read the Hollywood & September issue of Glamour Magazine (one of my faves!) I discovered they are gearing up to celebrate their 75th year! Some of my favorite features are the 1940's covers of the mag, then called Glamour of Hollywood.

The Do's and Don'ts Hollywood Edition is so both retro and current and begs the question:

Is the LBD over...for now? 

My thoughts: Ladies, it just might be time to put the LBD's away and make room for some sweet & sophisticated colored lace dresses!

I recently wore this red lace dress by Maggy London (not the Dolce & Gabbana frock pictured on the Glamour page in the center). It felt fresh, season-less and timeless...so I will be rocking this dress time and time again (expect to see too many photos of me wearing it on Facebook!
