Get The Look: Tata Harper x Holly Silius x Emma D'Arcy Golden Globes Beauty

Inspiration

“After working with Emma and their stylist, Rose Forde, I knew the inspiration was going to be thoughtful and expressive with a confident but chic nature to it. A confidence that comes from embracing your beautiful natural skin. The skin prep had to help build that personal strength but also neoteric, inline with Emma.

The skincare is an imperative part of the process which sets the stage for the look and Tata Harper was my go to for this idea. John Waters ‘Cry Baby’ imagery was the inspiration for the look, an idea from Rose. I respect her constant creative ingenuity and she trusts me to run with it. I am also a huge fan of John Waters so this was a dream for me. I studied him for my dissertation at university and always go back to these raw images for personal inspiration of rebellion and paving your own way, skin was centerstage to build this look.

I knew Emma would own this look effortlessly collaborating with them on the details from skin prep to finish, always letting the natural skin shine through, dewy, moisturized and fully their own.” - Holly Silius, Makeup Artist

Get The Look

First I started with the Aromatic Energy Treatment oil to set the stage for the feel and senses for the golden globes day, Tata have these incredible aroma details that add to their amazing range of products. I then wanted to freshen the skin by exfoliating with Regenerating Cleanser (Daily Exfoliating Treatment) softly loosening skin cells to have the skin renewed. It was really important to me to have the skin polished for this look.

I then moved onto their illuminating range of products for that pearlescent skin that was so significant for this overall look bringing in the New Romantics aspect, to create the vibrancy and softness on the red carpet. I started with a facial massage using the Elixir Vitae and followed with the most heavenly products which do look like shimmering diamonds…

Then, I added in extra droplets of the Retinoic Nutrient Face Oil (Multi-Tasking Youth Complex) around the eyes for the extra dewy layer pressed into the delicate eye area. I then added the Cream Highlighter in Flashy on the bridge of the nose, brow bone, cheekbones, and ears around the eyebrow area and the cupids bow. This tone was perfection for this creamy look, you can layer this a few times to add intensity of the highlight. I'm a lover of highlighters, and this is a go-to in my kit and for myself.

After the makeup application, I spritz the face with the Hydrating Floral Essence for a spa feeling which refreshes skin and revitalizes it.
